Reclaiming your Identity (or at least your driver’s license)

Imagine asking someone for their ID and being handed your own driver’s license in return. That’s exactly what happened at a bar in Ohio. A server checking ID’s requested one from a patron and was handed her own ID in return:

A bar waitress checking to see if a woman was legally
old enough to drink was handed her own stolen driver’s license, which
was reported missing weeks earlier, police said.

You’d think the person presenting the fraudulent ID would have noticed the resemblance of the person asking, but she didn’t until the deed was done:

The 22-year-old waitress, whose name was not released,
called police last week and said she had been handed her own stolen
driver’s license by a woman trying to prove she was 21. The woman, who
became suspicious of the delay as the waitress went to call police,
fled the Moosehead Saloon, but her companion provided her name.

The article mentions that the victim also had a credit card stolen which was used to make $1K in purchases. I wonder if it was all the same suspect, or if the person who stole the purse originally decided to sell the identification after using the cards?
