Often companies have FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) that have more marketing speak than useful information. Well, here are some real questions we got from press and reviews last week when we were giving them a preview of our new ZoneAlarm DataLock. Enjoy.
Q: Does re-formatting a hard drive really delete everything or can data still be dug out of it?
A: Reformatting does not necessarily erase everything. Unless it overwrites the data a couple of times, someone could still find some of your data using common disk reading programs.
Q: What are the password requirements for your log-in password (how many letters, variation, etc)?
A: Minimum of 8 characters, any characters you want. We recommend mixing your characters (upper and lower case, numbers, punctuation), but that is not necessary.
Q: I use a Windows log-in. Does that protect me, and if I have it with ZoneAlarm DataLock, do I have to sign in twice?
A: The Windows log-in is easily by-passed. For example, you can just boot using a USB stick with an operating system. If you decide to keep using the Windows log-in with ZoneAlarm DataLock, when you restart your computer, you will have to log-in a second time.
Q: When will the log-in screen appear?
A: Every time you restart or boot your laptop, you will need to log-in. You will also log-in after hibernation.
Have any other questions we have not already answered here, on our ZoneAlarm DataLock page or FAQ, please ask.

Perhaps, you have something interesting to say?
