I just uninstalled Norton, and installed Zone Alarm free firewall + anti-virus on my least important computer, so see how it compares. One thing I do not like is that there is zero control over when it downloads anti-virus updates. Every 24 hours at a fixed time based on when I downloaded. I can’t change the time, and if happens to download while I’m working, I can’t stop the download. Is that really what your developer intended?If I disable automatic definition download, manual download is also disabled. Zero user control over download time for virus definitions? Is that really the intent? Or am I missing something?
You can cancel the antivirus update by right-clicking on the icon located at the systems tray. Click on view update and click cancel.
