Keeping Tabs On Your Personal Electronic Devices

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) estimates that 733 million passengers boarded flights at some of the busiest airports across the country throughout 2011 and 2012. With travel this ubiquitous, people are losing their personal wireless devices at record rates. How many misplaced their devices, and how can you prevent this from happening to you?

  1. This is becoming a really big deal; especially in families. Everybody has a cell phone, tablet, laptop, gaming device, etc. That makes the cash big, the privacy difficult, and the threat scary. Being able to see what, where and with who is really important to prevent anything bad from happening.

  2. There are bluetooth solutions for laptops that keep a link to your phone. If you get out of range – i.e. more than about 30 to 40 feet from your laptop – your phone sounds an alarm. Great way to keep from forgetting your laptop in a hotel, at an airport security checkpoint, etc.

  3. Yes, happened to me, and it’s very frustrating, that’s why I backup all the information from my mobile device every week.
