4. What happens if I'm running an antivirus product from another company?

Running two antivirus products on the same computer can degrade performance and cause system crashes. It is important to uninstall any previously installed antivirus software before installing your ZoneAlarm security product. Note that typical uninstallation using the Windows removal tool (Add/Remove Programs) does not completely remove all of the software components. ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall includes both, a powerful antivirus engine and our firewall for the complete protection your computer needs.

What doesn't it include? It does not include premium features like parental controls,PC Tune-up, and email protection. Also, antivirus signature updates are automated and only happen once per day rather than every hour as in premium ZoneAlarm products. However you still get unlimited manual updates.

7. What if I have another software firewall installed on my computer?

Although it is possible to run two different software firewalls on your computer, we do not recommend doing so because it may cause performance problems and system instability.

The risk for potential conflict does not outweigh the benefits. ZoneAlarm Firewall is sufficient protection. We recommend you turn off or uninstall conflicting firewall products.
