All ZoneAlarm products (Version 5.1 and higher) are compatible with XP SP2 and integrate with Windows Security Center.
ZoneAlarm Product Version Number
To check your ZoneAlarm product version number, please follow these easy steps:
- If ZoneAlarm is running, double-click the ZA button on the bottom right of your screen. If ZoneAlarm is not running, start it by clicking Start | Programs | Zone Labs | ZoneAlarm.
- Click Overview in the left-hand column.
- Click the Product Info tab in the upper right-hand corner.
- Look under "Version Information" and you will see the ZoneAlarm product name and the version number.
Product Updates
If you have a valid subscription to your ZoneAlarm product, you may update your version by going to the Overview panel > Preferences tab > and click Check for Update. A pop-up window will let you know if a new version is available.
Subscription Renewals
If your subscription has expired, you may renew it by going to the Overview panel > Product Info tab > and click the Renew button.
Windows Security Center
Windows Security Center is an information tool that comes with XP SP2 to provide you with the status of essential security measures such as firewall, antivirus, and Microsoft patches.
Due to the importance of running a firewall that includes multiple layers of protection, such as a ZoneAlarm product, Microsoft and ZoneAlarm worked together to ensure that ZoneAlarm products are integrated with Windows Security Center.
As recommended by Microsoft, ZoneAlarm disables Windows Firewall on installation and re-enables it if ZoneAlarm is uninstalled.
Windows Security Center confirms that computers running ZoneAlarm products (version 5.1 or higher) are secure. Windows Security Center will show the status of your ZoneAlarm product as shown below:
