Decide for yourself how much privacy is right for you.

Social networks like Facebook encourage information sharing in ways that hurt your privacy. Unless you adjust your privacy settings, all your Facebook information (name, profile picture, posts, photos, timeline, friend list) is set to "Public" by default and viewable by everyone through search.

Always avoid posting sensitive information such as your birthday, home address, and vacation plans. Do not share information that could help a cybercriminal guess your password clues, such as your mother's maiden name, high school, first car, and other email accounts used.
