"The task encountered an error": anti virus update after installing 7.0.462 over 7.0.303
Yesterday I installed latest Security suite update over my older 7.0.302. Everything works OK. But: while I can update my spyware, I receive "The task encountered an error" message with the antivirus update. I emptied ZA update files --except for "Local Catalog.XML," which is protected-- and Temp Internet Files.

First, it's best that you never install a new release over a previous one, regardless of what's said. First, perform a clean uninstall (search the forums). However, that being said, here's a possible cure:
Problems running Update due to corrupted file ("Task has encountered an error")
New way (starting with 7.0.462.0)
1) Ctrl + Shft right-click (ZA systray icon)
2) Click Reset in popup box
3) Click Yes in Reset Settings dialog box
4) Click OK when prompted to reboot
5) Follow onscreen prompts
OR (old way):
1) Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\ZoneLabs\Updates
2) Delete all files
3) Re-run Update
The "old way" is simpler.
