One PC cannot communicate with the others
I installed the newest ZA Free and now one of the 3 computers on my home network cannot talk with any of the others and they can't talk with it. AND I keep getting this message:
I know that I must be REALLY dumb, but I believe this to be related to my inability to communicate with my 3rd computer, HOWEVER, I can't figure out how to set the firewall on both computers to allow access to the network.
I am running Windows XP SP3 on both computers.
I cannot gain access to MSHome group of computers on the remote.
Re: One PC cannot communicate with the others
First test (on the pc you cannot connect to): right click the ZA icon near the clock --> choose "exit", wait 1 minute, try now. Does not work? Then its not ZA.
If it works then ensure your LAN (network) is set as TRUSTED and NOT internet in the ZA firewall zones. AND that the Trusted zone is set to MEDIUM and not high. If you still have problems go to tools --> Preferences --> Reset to default. Reboot the PC.
What you describe is also commonly happening if your XP firewall is broken. To check, remove ZA, turn windows firewall ON and then install back ZA. ZA will automatically turn it off.
