    Default Problem with setting Preferences

    In the preferences section where one has the option of setting Zone Alarm when the comp is turned on....I check that but it doesn;t stay checked..What could be the problem and what can I do to fix it? My operating system is Windows XP -D-

    Sounds like your ZA database is corrupt and needs to be rest to fix the problem. But first try this. Check the 'load at boot option', then right click on the ZA icon in your system tray and select 'Shutdown Zone Alarm'. Now wait about a minute then open ZA again from your desktop shortcut or your 'All Program' menu. Did it remember your setting? If it did, reboot to check and see that it still remembers. If not, then reset your database. Reset the database this way; you will lose your customizations and will need to reconfigure Zone Alarm.

    1. Boot your computer into the Safe Mode. {Instructions if needed}
    2. Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder.
    3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder.
    4.Reboot into the normal mode.
