Default What settings for these programs?

I have programs listed in the Programs section of ZA 7 with "?" for the values. What are the "best" or "preferred" settings for these programs? The programs are:

    CARPSERV
    CSRSS
    CTFMON
    NTVDM
    USERINIT

    Thanks.

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
    Software Version:7.0

    Hi AKAJohnDoe,

Do not change anything. It is not possible to tell the best setting.

Actually, you do not need to edit these settings because ZoneAlarm has a Smard Defense Advisor which has a database of most programs. It configures the program access permissions which are trusted.

But the permission is defaultly set to "?" when Smard Defense Advisor does not know about the particular program.

It's upto you change the settings, you can get a clue by reading the following, but I recommend not to change any.

The processes, CSRSS, CTFMON, NTVDM and USERINIT are programs and processes of Microsoft, so, they are safe. But, these 4 processes usually DO NOT need to connect to the internet. (Make sure that these files are from Microsoft. That may be a virus file with the same name)
And the process, CARPSERV, belongs to Conexant Company. It too does not need to connect to the internet. It enables the internet modem speaker so it allows you to listen to the dial-up process. So, if you do not have a dial up modem, this can be a duplicate file which can be a spyware or a virus.

    Cheers,

....... do not give any of these Server rights nor email access. Just leave a ? in access. Any you do not want, you can delete and they will return again if they are required.
