    Default On Access Scanning

I have on access scanning enabled and it's taking up 97% cpu resources by scanning files in

    C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS
    about 20 of these folders.
    x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727. 1433_x-ww_5cf844d2

    I Disabled the
C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\ folder in Scan Targets but it didn't help and Idon't think those options apply to on Access Scanning?
Anyway, is there a way I can configure what's scanned in on access scanning.
If i disable on access scanning would a
virus in memory still be detected?
I'm running Windows SP 95 Home Edition and Zone Alarm Security Suite 7.0.483

Hi!go to the advanced options of the ZA antivirus/antispyware tab --> Virus management --> Exception --> add file --> and add those 20 folders...If you disable completely the 'on access' scanning you will be basically without antivirus protection.Cheers,Fax

I'm looking at Antivirus/Anti-Spyware -> The Main Tab, [Advanced Options] Button
I See Advanced Options Under Virus Management (in the dotted line) I click on Exceptions I see 1 exception in a
list box then under that a Remove From List and More Info Button, that's it

    Hi!
right click on the ZA icon near the clock --> about --> copy to clipboard --> paste it here

Just to understand which version you are running and if your ZA settings are corrupted.

    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:7.0.483.000
    TrueVector version:7.0.483.000
    Driver version:7.0.483.000
    Anti-virus engine version:3
    Anti-virus SDK version:5.0.1.85
    Anti-virus signature DAT file version:963402698
    Anti-spyware engine version:5.0.189.0
    Anti-spyware signature DAT file version:01.200811.4835

However after excluding the folder in scan targets and rebooting I don't have the problem anymore. So it's working great now but still no Add File button to Virus Treatment Exceptions.
    Thanks.

    Hi!
    ok now I understand
An oversight from my part... you are using version 7.

Version 7 has no 'add file' and other options included in version 8.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding.

    Cheers,
