    Default Program Control - Programs

Good day and Happy New Year to all
Looking at my ZA configuration I find multiple entries for various things. (see list below - the figure indicates number of entries).
    Program Control - Programs
Java(tm)2 Platform Standard edition binary (8)
    Java (TM) Control Panel (3)
Java (TM) Platform SE Binary (18)
    Java (TM) Update checker (5)
    Java TM Installer
    Java Update Module (2)
Java TM Web Start Launcher (4)
Launcher.exe (3)Malicious Software Removal Tool Update stub (9)StopProc
(HP software) (8)Win32 Cabinet Self Extractor (7)

Can I delete some of these as I guess they may be slowing my old PC?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi!no, they should not slow down your system, they are just not used... You should first check under XP add/remove program how many "Java(TM) 6 update XX". Remove all of them apart from the last, that should be "Java(TM) 6 update 11".Now you can do the same for the entries in ZA programs that refers to XX olders than 11.Cheers,Fax

You can remove all:- Win32 Cabinet Self Extractor (7) = install/ temp files- Malicious Software Removal Tool Update stub (9) &lt; look at the dates of each one, remove all except the lastest one.<hr>All - By checking the dates and version numbers, you can safely remove the 'ZA program entries' of older versions.<hr>Click here &gt; http://forums.zonelabs.com/zonelabs/...d=88343#M10032<hr>Try resetting your database. Keep in mind that you will lose all settings within ZoneAlarm. If you usually rely on the default settings, this poses no problem for you.
1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot<hr>
