Hello all,

I know this is totally off-topic unrelated to ZA, but I am hoping to get some general ideas on this problem that has recently occured.

Whenever I used to shutdown the laptop computer, it follows this general sequence:
1.) Windows Logging off.
2.) Windows Shutting down.
3.) Screen turns black
4.) Computer shuts-down completely 1-2 seconds after screen turns black (as determined by the green led lights signifying the hard-drive, etc.)

Very recently (I believe for about 2 weeks now after updating the BIOS of the laptop) it follows this sequence:
1.) Windows Logging off.
2.) Windows Shutting down.
3.) Screen turns black
4.) Screen flickers/flashes grayish-white for a millisecond prior to the computer completely shutting down (as determined by the green LED lights signifying the hard-drive, etc.)

I'm assuming the BIOS update had something to do with this? Maybe the LCD screen is now failing?

Maybe someone can reassure me this isnt some sort of motherboard/BIOS bug that someone has said to load-up automatically upon boot-up and rewrite itself when shutting down? (or maybe i'm taking it out of context totally)
