    Default Wiping deleted files

When scanning I sometimes see programmes that I have deleted popping up in the line of text displayed.

I assume this is because they have not yet been overwritten.

If they were completely wiped would this speed up scanning?

If so can anyone recommend a product I can buy (I admit I m always a bit dubious of downloading free stuff) to wipe these files please?

    Thank you.

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

I use a good Free Program called CCLEANER.EXE, that cleans Junk and Temp file off your HD, as well as Clean your registry..

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware!
