    Hi JenaGuru!

    Long time no see!
I hope you and your family are alright and okay!

Look for the "Removal tool for Kaspersky Lab's products" in this link:

    http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279463

    to download the removal tool.
The kavremover9.exe removal tool is also a "cleanup" tool for getting rid of those left over bits and pieces from the Add and Remove Programs uninstallation.

    All the Best!
    Drop by more often too!

Hi Guru Oldsod, many thanks for quick and to the point solution from you as always. That worked and I am now using Avira AV free. What is your view about ZA & Avira free combination (obviously with safe surfing habit)?

Me and my family are quite okay. Hope you are also fine with your family.

I am a little busy with my assignments. Though I generally do not log on, I regularly visit this forum almost once a day for thoughtful comments of the members, especially GURUS. I will try to log on more often as you wished.

    Best regards Guru Oldsod.

ZA + Avira free should be okay.
If you get a little nervous something slipped by, then use free version of superantispyware for some extra antispyware detections.
Prevention and safe security practises are still the most effective tools.

Using the ZA Pro 5.5 and the Avira together myself- nice, light and effective combination.
(I do have the ZA set up for maximum security with all kinds of rules, of course.)
But no other on-demand scanners are used here- just hjt, autoruns and process explorer are some of the tools to help do some occasional checking.

Everything is okay here and thank you for asking.
All the best to you and your family.

    Best regards.
