Create a Shutdown Windows icon on the desktop icon by first creating a new shortcut (right click empty space on the desktop and select 'shortcut') on the desktop.
In the new window, there will be the space bar with 'Browse', just copy and paste this into the empty space bar:

    %windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s -f -t 00

    Then click the 'Next' button.
In the next new window, you are able to change the name of the new file instead of using the shutdown.exe; I use just 'Turn Off' but any name can be used.
    Next click the 'Finish' button.

Another nicer con can be used for this shortcut, so right click the new default icon, open the Properties, select the 'Shortcut' tab, open the 'Change icon' button, press OK in the new window, then select the wanted icon,
    Apply and Ok.

Default Shutdown Windows option in the explorer shell context menu.

Shutdown Windows option in the explorer shell context menu.
    Open the Run.
Type in the space bar: regedit
Press [Enter] of the keyboard or press the OK.
In the registry, open this key (it's near the very top):

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell

(right click the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and then the folder marked *. Then click the 'shell' folder.)

Right click the 'shell' folder key, select 'New', select 'Key'.
Next rename or name the new key something like: Windows Shutdown
Right click this new key just named Windows Shutdown, then select 'New' and select 'Key'.
Name or rename this new key: command

In the right panel of the 'command', right click the 'Default' under the 'Name' column.
    Select the 'Modify.
In the 'Value data' space, copy and paste this into it: shutdown.exe %-f -c "WINDOWS IS SHUTTING DOWN NOW!"%
(note: the 'windows is shutting down now' message between the quote marks can be changed to anything you want, but it must be placed in between the quote marks).

The change is immediate - no reboot is required.
