I'm having the same problem as Mooseburger reported.
Since installing ForceField my computer often runs much, much slower.
In some cases it takes several minutes to open the browser and web pages.
However, at other times it runs near normal

    I also have
    ZA Security Suite installed.
    Any suggestions?

    Windows XP Home Edition

ZoneAlarm Security Suite and ZA ForceField

I'm not sure if this is a ZAFF issue or not but here goes...
since installing ZAFF a few weeks ago my computer periodically plays a 2 second sound of thunder every 15 or 20 minutes.
I've turned off all of the Windows sound files but this one continues.
Is it perhaps a sound ZAFF generates to let me know it's running?
If so, how do I turn it off because it's really annoying.
    Thanks.

    Forcefield doesn't play sounds.

Sounds like you might have a malware infection.

Try following this advice for malware removal:

    Thanks, I'll check that out.
Since posting my question I uninstalled ZAFF and have not yet reinstalled,

The sound has since disappeared so, whatever the source,
it apparently had a direct correlation to the ForceField program.
My computer is also running at normal speed again now that ZAFF is gone.

Sometimes a failing or about to fail speaker will make unusual sounds or noises.
    Are the desktops speakers okay?

    No, I'm certain it's not
the speakers, but thanks for the suggestion.
This sound started occurring soon after I downloaded and installed ZAFF, which is why I thought perhaps it had something to do with the program.

    I've since
turned off all of the normal Windows sounds and uninstalled ZAFF, but the sound continues.
It's been suggested it might be a malware infection.
I used ZA Security Suite to run a deep scan, but that didn't find anything.
Not sure where to look to find an answer.
It's frustrating because there's no observable pattern to it... this one second thunderclap just happens sporadically several times an hour.

Using a wireless lan and not a wired lan?
Often radio frequencies from other type broadcasts will "appear" in the wireless reception and cause strange sounds and voices.
Even cell phone or wireless house phones have been known to jump in the scene.
