I have been using Forcefield for some time.
Recently I upgraded my hardware
with a ASUS P6T motherboard with a i7 processor (PSU, case, GPUs, and HDDs are original).
Now, Forcefield causes Windows XP (SP3) to perform a core dump without a BSOD.
The system error logs report a fault in ICSAK.*
The behavior occurs
both on a clean Windows install (no other software other than drivers installed) and
on a reinstalled image of a known-good operating system.
The error always manifests after Forcefield finishes the install.
After the system reboots,
Windows appears stable, although there is often drive corruption.
At that time, I can
Forcefield's TSR without reboot or an error report.
whenever I load a browser (either IE7 or Firefox 3.0.10), the system crashes.
The browser-induced crash occurs after the outline of the browser window appears (the Forcefield "halo"
becomes visible, but not the browser screen elements,
and then the screen goes black and the computer reboots).
I have reinstalled Firefox, cleared the Forcefield virtual cache, upgraded the motherboard's bios and attempted to use Forcefield with all other security software turned off (**bleep** firewall, Kaspersky anti-virus, Spysweeper), but with no change in behavior.
Lastly, I have installed this version of Forcefield on a laptop test-bed and it works fine.
According to Forcefield, this is the latest version.
I am out of ideas.
I like Forcefield and would like to keep using it, but if it doesn't work I can't justify renewing my license.
Thank you, in advance, for your help.
