Default Outlook Express - MSIMN.EXE - Buffer Overrun

Just installed ZA Internet Suite on machine with 2 XP user id's.
Outlook Express works fine on one ID, but runs into the buffer overrun on the other id (after working fine for about a day).
After looking at prior posts, it appears it could be related to the problem with OE properly shutting down completely.
I will sometimes see 2 instances of MSIMN.exe running in the task bar.

The problem does not occur with Spam Filter off.
I've tried a few things mentioned on these boards (OE communication settings, update ADDINMON file, clean reinstall) with nothing working.
Any other suggestions to get OE to properly shut down and avoid the buffer overrun?

    thanks.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
    Software Version:6.5

Have you applied all the current Microsoft Windows updates for Outlook Express (6 I assume)? See if that might fix the issue.

Actually, that could be a false positive. When you see that happening, try moving your mouse over the icons on the task bar. I notice the same thing, and unfortunately Windows doesn't always refresh that area for some reason, but when you place your mouse over both icons, one of them may likely disappear after the prgrm closes.

I am getting the same problem, but with Outlook 2003 (not OE), and researching it myself. If anyone from ZoneLabs can help out, that would be great. Otherwise I will have to go back to using TrendMicro, which never gave me any problems. This problem didn't start happening until I put Zone Alarm 2007 on my laptop.

    Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem, which I described in another post:
    I am running:

XP Home, fully updated as of 12/31/06.

... on a late model machine w/ 2 GB RAM

ZoneAlarm Security Suite 6.5.737.000 (and AntiSpam 4.8.2.7565)

    Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)
OE6 works fine when I turn off the Junk Email Filter.
    It's always worked fine.
It worked just fine under Norton, with their spam filter.
It worked fine under the PCillin trial.
But when I turn on the ZL Junk Email Filter, I run into trouble.
OE6 launches and loads the in-box
    with no trouble.
However, when I send/receive, I get the ZL spam filter spash screen, and within a fraction of a second get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library window that says...
    ------------------------------
    Buffer Overrun Detected
    Program: C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\MSIMN.EXE
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state.
The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
    (OK)
    -----------------------------
OE6 cannot be re-launched, even with spam filtering turned back off.
(OE6 hangs on the spash screen.)
The only way to access email is to turn the spam filtering off and then
    re-boot the machine.

In answer to your question to another user:
Yes, MY Outlook Express and all other Microsoft software is fully updated.
    What gives?????

    Help!!!!
I'm drowning in spam!!!!!Sarah ... glug... glurp... gasp...
