    Thumbs up [Solved] privacy settings no effect > reset the ZA database

    I'm using v7 of zone suite. I am a developer and have local web server running listening on various ports (e.g. localhost:7001),
    when I have the web server up and try to access the web server admin console, it won't let me pass thru the login page and return me to he login page.
    If I shutdown the zonealarm, then everything works fine. Apparaently the zonealarm is blocking the cookies.

    I tried to turn off cookie blocking in main, but the privacy advisor still pop-up and says blocked cookie
    I also tried to add the site (localhost) to the site list in privacy to allow everything, but the privacy advistor still pop-up and says blocked cookie.

    The only solution right now is shutdown the zonealarm which is not desirable, is there anyway to configure this to make it works or just turn off the privacy shield.

    Hi,

    Welcome to the Forum!

    Try resetting your database and see if that will fix it. Reset the database this way; you will lose your customizations and will need to reconfigure Zone Alarm.

    1. Boot your computer into the Safe Mode.
    2. Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder.
    3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder.
    4. Reboot into the normal mode.

    Thanks for the advice. I was having the same problem with a site through IE for which I knew I'd set the proper rules. However it was still being blocked.
    I followed your instructions to reset the ZA database and, voila!, problem solved.
    Thanks (this issue was driving me out of my mind),
