I am a longtime Zone Alarm user and am currently using Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite 7.0.337.000. Other than as a firewall, I use Zone Alarm primarily for web filtering purposes to protect my family from viewing adult sites. Occasionally, I find sites in by browser history that have made it past the filter. I realize that no filter is perfect and I submit the offending websites to http://www.cerberian.com (the company that handles the web filtering for Zone Alarm). Recently, I have submitted several sites (including one major host of adult streaming video) that continues to remain unblocked by ZoneAlarm. The problem is that Cerberian tells me that these sites are rated as "Adult". Here is a portion of the email from Cerberian:
"This site has been categorized as Adult/Mature Content in addition to Online Storage in our database. Blue Coat does not control whether a web page is "Blocked" or "Allowed", please see your ZoneLabs application settings about changing which categories are blocked. If you are blocking Adult/Mature content category but can still access the site, please contact ZoneLabs support. I apologize for the inconvenience.
This site has been reviewed. However, it was already correctly rated as Adult/Mature Content, and Computers/Internet.
We do not have control over which category or categories are blocked or allowed. That decision is left for each individual application or filtering service provider. If you feel that a certain category should be either blocked or allowed, click here to find out more about how to change your Internet Use Policy."
I would like to know how to rectify this situation. If ZoneAlarm Web Filtering is unable to protect my computer from these sites that are specifically rated as Adult then I will have to abandon Zone Alarm as a product and choose a competing firewall/filtering package.
