Default Alert there is a duplicate name on the network

    Hi,
I'm concerned because I keep getting a message alert that says a "duplicate name" is on the network. Does this mean someone else can get into my computer? Read my email?
    Thanks,
    JaneElizabeth

I take it there is another PC on your home network. It may have the same name or assigned IP (by the router). If both machines are on the network at the same time, there will be a conflict. Change one of the names so they are two diferrent names and make sure ecah PC has it's own individual IP.
