Thread: Email Filter shuts down Outlook Express

    Default Email Filter shuts down Outlook Express



    New Situation: When filtering emails, ZA shuts down Outlook Express after the 15th email [many more to go but it happens here].
    This has been happening a few days now and we have hundreds of new emails that have not been filtered.
    Each time we open Outlook Express, ZA comes on to filter the emails and after the 15th, Voila, the Outlook Express shuts down.
    Can't keep Outlook Express open to read any e-mails or determine if the problem is with Outlook Express or ZA Email Filter.
    There have been no new downloads or modifications to our machine except the ususal MS and ZA updates.

    This doesn't happen when we turn off Email filter on ZA.
    The problem returns when we turn Email filter back on.

    Please advise.

    ZA has incorparated a new way to Reset DataBase files so users don't need to go into Safe mode.


    To repair this problem, please follow the steps below. Please note that
    this will remove your program permission settings (so you may want to make
    note of them), but re-establishing them is a simple process.

    1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together then

    2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock in the system tray lower right corner
    3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
    4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
    5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
    6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot

    Hi and thanks Guru GeorgeV.Your approach worded and I'm happy to report itI know this site and the moderators are volunteers and not ZA employees so thanks for all your collective efforts!
    Just thought you might like to know that I finally received a reply from ZA technical support staff.

    They suggested I do a clean
    uninstall and and reinstall clean.
    Their directions were not that easy to understand though I could.
    Their response came after you suggestion [more elegant due to its simplicity] and too late.
    In fact, ZA sent me a survey to complete before I even received a response from technical support.
    I'm not happy with them but again, thanks to all y'all.

    Thank you for your progress report..If the Suggestion made by tech support does not work,Please Reply to the Tech support Email, and let them know, so that they can provide a Better Solution..and Replying to their Email with your Case Number will put you at the top of the List for a Reply..

    Guru GeorgeVWay before ZA technical support offered a solution,your suggestion fixed my issue so the point is moot regarding my trying their solution.Thanks Again.
