    can anyone help me, how do i
    remove brontok from
    my system.

    thanks oldsod, i downloaded the gdata remover from that link but the gremover stops responding after 30-35 minutes of scanning HDD, but it also didnt detect anything till that point also. i tried scanning 3-4 times, but same. i did disable the restore, and antivirus but no good. it scanned registries and now the regedit works but no folder options yet.

    Your welcome!

    As you noticed we don't take the weekend off and we can find a few neccessary resources from time to time.

    BTW I would follow the clean up with file/reg cleaner CCleaner from

    A new version of CCleaner is available! You can download it at this link:

    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard <== Click Here

    Plus do several online antivirus scans from bitdefender.com and trendmicro.com Just to be very sure there are no traces or friends of the brontok left.

    Perhaps a systen file check or command "sfc /scannow" with the Windows OS disk and a disk defrqag and disk check, just to top off the maintenace for any damage control.

    Take care,

    Oldsod
