    Hi Hoov,
I did do all those things, defrag, cleared temp files and internet cache. It seems to be better today, but I will look in the events list, thanks. Cindy

Thanks Slyfox, I will try the hijack this log at castle cops tonight. I would have gotten back to you sooner, but I was having dental surgery most of the day yesterday. Thanks for the link to castle cops.

I went to the castle cops, and followed their instructions to do first to the letter. (I mean each and every thing in the order they specified) Just tried to do a ZA scan (byte level), and still have the same problem. ZA cannot scan any files in drive D, which is the recovery partition. Any new thought would be welcome. Cindy

AH now it is clearer. You say the recovery partition? This partition is not accessible thru windows, but only during a recovery. You don't need to worry about anything in there. Basically you can ignore it.

Thank you Hoov! It would have driven me crazy for a very long time. I can be like a dog with a bone who will not let go. Bless you.

I should have asked that earlier.
