Default Delete on Reboot Doesn't Work

I have ZoneAlarm Security Suite 7.0.337.000 on Windows XP (SP2)

After a Scan the scanner finds several virus infected files with suggested treatment "Delete on Reboot". I click on the apply button (which is then grayed out), close the scan window and answer yes to the window offering to reboot. After a reboot, none of the identified files have been deleted...

    Any suggestions?

    Operating System:
    Windows XP Pro
    Product Name:
    ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
    Software Version:
    7.0

    HI,
Why would I need to scan in Safe mode? It is not very convenient as I need to use my computer when it scans. A full scan of all the hard drives takes more than 48 hrs....

Well, I do not have any persistent infections at all.....

I just have several hard drives where I have downloaded files which contains viruses. None of them are active. I just want to delete the infected files.
I do not understand why ZoneAlarm needs to reboot to do this. I can simply delete the files manually myself (I already tried several w/o any problems).

However, I have quite a few files in different directories and it would be very tedious to read the Zonealarm report and find and delete all files one-by-one.

Why can't Zonealarm simple delete the files? They are not in use.

    Hi!
if you are sure that they are not in use then there is a problem with the scanner (corrupted install) or its a bug...Are your running other security tools? Windows defender, Adware, SpybotS&D, etc?? They can conflict with the ZA cleaning.Never had such a problem here...Please contact ZA technical support and inform them about the issue: www.zonelabs.com/tsform Fax
