    Which virus?

IE hijacked... such as popups or change of search engine or the home page changed? What is the new home page? What do the popup(s) show?

Have you done an antivirus scan and spyware scan?

Have you tried any additional antispy ware scanners?

I the steps of removal on the attached website: http://www.precisesecurity.com/compu...akesecsite.htm
When you open internet explorer, this virus hi-jacks my home page to one of the websites listed in these fake security websites for removal of this virus.
I tried Spy Sweeper which found 1 trojan and 6 other
problems. Zone Alarm did not pick up any of these problems.
I tried the ZA virus and spy sweeper twice and it didn't pick up the problem.
I just finished this manual process listed on the above website and it appears I may have removed it by rebootin in safe mode
and using Lavasoft Ad-Aware and SmitfraudFix.
I was hoping ZA would cover all of these problems.
    The hi-jack page appears like:

    Warning!

w32.Myzor.FK@yf is a virus that infects files with .exe extentions. It attempts to steal passwords and private information from the infected computer. etc..

    Ok, i see now.

This appears to be part of the SmitFraud family. Really nasty malware.

First choice for scanner for removing this is the SuperAntiSpyware (freeware) from here:

    http://www.superantispyware.com/

Second choice of scanner is Rogue Remover (freeware) from here:

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/RogueRemover_Free_d5360.html

I would use the ASquared (freeware) for an extra third opinions scanner:

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/a-squared_...ion_d4281.html

The standalone compact custom made remover is the Siri SmitFraud Remover, found here with instructions:

    http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix_En.php

This should remove the vermin. However a HJT (HIJack This) would be recommended to make sure your PC is clean.

There is a tutorial and this site particular also does HJT help for users who do not understand the log results.

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=38752

If this forum is busy , then try the castle cops forum for the HJT, here:

    http://www.castlecops.com/f67-Hijack...ans_Oh_My.html

This would be the first choice for the HJT help- login and post the results. Expert help for free.

<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>You are using an old version of ZASS with a weak antivirus engine (CA AV), once you have cleaned the infections I would reccomend to move to ZASS 7.It has a new antivirus engine by Kaspersky. One of the best malware scanner nowadays...Cheers,Fax
