    I have:

    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version 7.0.337.000

Back to using Firefox now. But, I switched 5 or 6 days ago from Firefox to IE 6.0 and was using IE 6.0 when the problem occurred.

    Much the same here.
21 Sept 2007 Zone Alarm dectected Win32.Backdoor.Revell.110 in file
    c:\windows\system32\msrdo20.dll
    msrdo20.dll
version 6.0.81.69 last modified on 17 Sept 1998.
Haven't checked MD5 or Hashes as like others I am assuming
the "hit" by ZoneAlarm is a false positive because
    all
anti-spyware scans to date detected nothing and system hasn't been anywhere near a threat site or program since yesterday.

    ZASS program info
    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version 7.0.362.000

    Driver version 7.0.362.000
Anti-virus engine version 3 DAT file version 20070820215000
Anti-spyware engine version 5.0.172.0, DAT file version 01.200708.2235

I have been having an horrific time with one of the office computers, it was hanging with certain programs, programs would hang when they started, XP was not shutting down properly.

I checked the disk, I ran scans, I analysed the Events log and nothing seemed to work. I was about to swap the RAM to see if the modules were faulty before taking the plunge with a fresh Windows install when I decided to get the latest update for Zonealarm. It detected Win32.Backdoor.Revell.110, which I deleted (I normally quarantine but felt like being extra vindictive to it and thought to **bleep** with the consequences).

The results were startling, the computer has had barely anything wrong with it and is actually workable now, much to my surprise. I have been trying to see whether Win32.Backdoor.Revell.110 was the true cause of my problems but it seems that no-one seems to know much about it, although I read on one website that it does all the usual things, like allow remote users to log keystrokes, delete files and take screenshots. I'm still not 100% convinced it is a trojan as the computer I am using now detected it this morning and I have not had much wrong with my computer.

    Hello:

I too detected this this morning. I haden't downloaded anything new since my last spyware scan which was on August 14, and that scan didnt detect this. I think there may have been a new spyware definition update recently....
Any further info on this finding?

Has it been shown to be a likely false positive?

    Advice please.

    TIA

    -Eliuri

For everyones' information, I took GURU FAX's advice and notified Zone Alarm Tech Support on www.zonelabs.com/tsform
I might suggest, some others also do the same; without bombarding them I suppose.
Being quite new to forums and such, I don't know if that the "done thing" but it may push them along. Unless, of course, ZA's Tech Support proactively monitor their forum.
