Default Adobe Flash Player detected as spyware Win32.Trojan.Spy.Ardamax.e

When I run an anti-spyware scan using Zone Alarm Security Suite it keeps detecting the Flash Player plug-in and its components as spyware called "Win32.Trojan.Spy.Ardamax.e".

Zone Alarm displays this as "medium" risk.

It lists the path and details as:

RegistryKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\Adobe Flash Player Plugin
    RegistryKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayer Plugin
    RegistryKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins

Any ideas why this is happening?

    I am using:
    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version 7.0.337.000.
    TrueVector security engine version 7.0.337.000
    Driver version 7.0.337.00
Anti-virus engine version3, DAT file version
Anti-spyware enginer version 5.0.187.0, DTA file version 01.200711.2795
    AntiSpam version 4.9.1.8211

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

    Got it, too.

Fully believe it is a False Positive.

    Please report it here:

    Take care.

I got the same scan results. Zone Alarm said to delete it....so I did! Is that going to cause me problems with my computer now? I don't even know what those files are for that I deleted.

**I had posted this just a bit ago on another forum where I had seen someone else asking about this particular detection. Sorry for the double post.**

This also came up for me today on my weekly scan. I quarantined and deleted the files although they did seem or sound legit. I'd like to know as well, if this was a false positive.
The one thing I did notice, prior to the scan though is that the speed test I normally run on a fairly regular basis,(and I guess uses these files as well to run), was showing me and my connection as being all the way across the country from where I actually am. It has never done that before and is always accurate as to my general state location at least.

I can't run the speed test now that I have deleted the files, (to check if it still shows me in the wrong area) and I am also afraid to reinstall the flash player until I know more about this. It was very odd that the speed test I always run showed my connection coming from somewhere on the East Coast when I actually live on the West, it has never done that until today, and just previous to ZA Pro detecting the flash player plug-in as a trojan.

I'd be very relieved to find out more about this one way or another if anyone else has had the same happen or has more info on whether or not it was a false positive and if the speed test could have just been a coincidental blurp.

I'm running ZAPro 7.0.337 Anti Spyware data version 01.200711.2796

The same thing happened to me yesterday and whenever I try and reinstall the flash player ZA detects it again. I read the same thing in another forum.
I made a complete scan with both AVG 7.5 antimalware and NOD32 3.0 updated and both came negative.
Is it a flase positive. Help anyone?

I've also reported this to zonealarm and I'm waiting a response. As soon as I get it I'll let you know.

This false positive for Flash Player appears to have been a problem since August. Come on, Tech Support, get with it. And Programming, since Flash Player is used ubiquitously these days to view lots of web sites, don't you think you should test new updates of ZAP Anti-Spyware against it to avoid false positives such as these????

I have just reported the same false positive.
