Default How do I fix dmserver.dll?

ZA w/ AV keeps finding this file (dmserver.dll) as "Trojan.Win32.Patched.dt".

It renames the file to "dmserver.dll.vzr", but a new DLL replaces it almost immediately.

Upon scanning again, the same Trojan.Win32.Patched.dt comes up with the same "solution" (to rename the file).

Every time the file is renamed a new one pops up, and every time I run a scan that file shows up as Trojan.Win32.Patched.dt.

How can I fix this file?

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the link.

I wish I never would have tried to fix this problem because my computer is hosed now.

I tried to boot into safe mode by pressing F8 but my PC gave me a list of drives to boot from and I selected my HD with Windows on it. Then it went directly to Windows without giving me the option to go to safe mode.

So, I did "msconfig" command; modified boot.ini by clicking on sfaeboot & network support.

    Then rebooted my computer.

Now I'm in a continuous boot loop... No matter what I select.

Now, it brings my to the...

    safe mode
    safe mode with network support
    safe mode with command prompt

    last working setup

    boot windows normally

But NO MATTER WHAT I SELECT (I've tried all 5 SEVERAL times.) it shows the Windows screen for 3 second and then reboots.

    Any thoughts?

    EDIT: I fixed it.

I found an article on Ask.com that explained how to fix the boot.ini by going into Windows Recovery Panel...

I thought I was screwed when the exact instructions gave me an error after 35min of searching my hard drives. But, I figured out another way to do it - ADD another boot record instead of trying to REBUILD the one I had.

I will try your instructions on removing those files.

    Thanks again!

    Nope...

I can't get into Safe Mode.

I press F8 on boot and i get a list of drives - blue background. When I select my only bootable drive, it boots right into Windows.

    Any ideas?

EDIT: I added a second boot option to boot.ini with /safeboot:network switch.

When I select it, I see all the drivers load, then it reboots.

Also, with the second option, I can press F8 on the options screen to bring up "advanced options" which include the 3 safemode choices.

HOWEVER, when I select ANY of them, it does what it was doing before, showing the drivers loading, the rebooting.

FYI, My mobo is Asus A8V-XE - Athlon 64 X2 4200+, with 3GB of RAM
