    Hi,
I too have had this problem. I've just changed the Generic Host Process for Win32 Services within ZoneAlarms Programs List to have Trust Level 3 bars, then XX.
I then scanned my computer for svchost and it found several instances of it. One in c:\i386, and another four in
    the following
folders under c:\windows: $NtServicePackUninstall$, Prefetch, system32, ServicePackFiles\i386.Can anybody tell me if any of these are in an invalid location?
I also just noticed that since changing the Generic Host Process in
ZA's Programs list I now have two Generic Host Process items noted, one with the settings stated above (and with a green dot in the Active column) in location C:\WINDOWS\system32
and another with the setting of Trust Level 3 bars, then ?X
in location C:\i386). Is this normal?
    Thanks

c:\windows: $NtServicePackUninstall$ = update folder for windows and yes the svchost.exe has and does get updated, so this is okay.

Prefetch = virtual memory or page filing and the prefetch files are non-executible. Needed and normal.

system32 = the correct location for the 'working'svchost.exe. Correct.

i386= has a svchost file but it is really a svchost.exe_ not svchost.exe. Actually this is non executible and is a spare for when the i386 files are needed (system file check and in dos and for last known configuration for examples).

You only should have only the one svchost.exe and that is from the one found in the windows\system32 folder, in the ZA Program listing. You can remove the other entry.
Then it will be normal again.
