    Default Is 7-zip.dll a Trojan?

I have had installed and been running 7-Zip for over a year. This morning, for the first time, the ZoneAlarm Pro scanner detected the dll (C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7-zip.dll) as a Trojan (Win32.Worm.Generic.9827.18). I suspect a false positive. Does anyone have any information on this?

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:8.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro

I had the same issue pop up last night too. I went to quarrantine until I could search to see if this was indeed the case.

I take it that 0/41 means that 7-zip.dll is NOT a virus?

I also experienced this and visited http://smartdefense.zonealarm.com/tm...cReporting.jsp where I noted a link to the Kaspersky online file scanner, which I used to test the 7-zip.dll file.

That test claims the file is clean.

I saw that we should also "report such detection to the ZoneAlarm Security Team", however I did not see any link there to do so. As such, hopefully this post will serve as adequate notice of another probable false positive report for that file.

    Hi!
you have to contact ZA support, link in my signature (and in the link I have already given). ZA staff does not monitor this board, posting here will not help to get it fixed.

FWIW, it appears the problem does not exist for me in version 8.0.400.020 -

Perhaps the definitions changed (in which case, I suppose it would have also been fixed in the previous version) or perhaps it never was a problem in the current version.

I suppose that I may never know, however, my problem in this case has apparently been resolved.

Perhaps russd would be kind enough to share his experience.
