1) If a thread belongs on different board, the Moderator may move the entire thread to that board.
2) Do I need an antivirus too? ZoneAlarm is a personal firewall. Use it in conjunction with a good updated antivirus.
3) Why are my ports open? Anything that has Server rights in ZA will be listening on the port it needs for inbound connections. If you are behind a NAT router or hardware firewall, that is the system being tested in most cases, not your computer. Also, using "netstat" shows what is listening on your system, but if it does not have Server rights in ZA, then it will listen but never receive inbound connections - ZA is doing its job.
4) When does ZA start? By default, ZA starts running as a service when the computer starts. Once you log in, you will see the User Interface (UI or GUI) start up, but the firewall is already in place.
