Default Red circular buttons with white cross on system tray

I've recently been attacked by quite a sohpisticated trojan that got through ZoneLabs anti-virus, firewall etc. Zone Alarm found something but couldn't repair it (java.byte.verify). The program set up an intermediate login page to my internet bank account with the correct URL and looking almost identical (with working links) but asking for 2 passwords, which is why I phoned my bank PDQ. Another anti-virus package picked it up. ZA left 2 red circular buttons with white crosses on the system tray with an annoying flyout flag saying the computer was infected, and asking me to click on it - I didn't. A full search for the text content of the flyout revealed that system32\zonelabs\ZLCommDB.xml was the cuplrit. Scans with ZL anti virus & Spyware, AVG, and Ad-Aware all report that the virus/trojan has now gone but I am still left with these 2 annoying buttons.
Please can someone advise on how to get rid of them???

    Try this,

    1. From the Start button, click Settings> Control Panel
    2. In the Control Panel, open the "Java Plug-in Control Panel"
    3. Select the Cache Tab
    4. Click the Clear button inside the Cache Tab, which will clear your JRE cache directory
