    Default Mail Delivery Subsystem

    Can anyone tell me how to get rid of a virus that is sending muti e-mails from my computer, many of them are being returned - about 50 each day.

    It could be that it is not your machine sending the e-mails but rather someone else's infected machine that has you address in their address book. I'd also do a virus scan at House Call online to see if it finds anything.

    Many thanks Bill, I have scanned my PC with Norton Systemworks, Adaware and
    Spybot and have found nothing. You could be right.

    I'll just keep deleting and hoping it goes away.

    If you came up 'clean' then I'd bet on some one else's machine being infected. Usually the "return" e-mails do not come back to the 'infected' machine because it would tip-off the user he or she is infected. Like you thought for example. Unfortunately I don't know of a clever way of identifying the infected machine.
