    Default Daily IP Expiration: Commonality?

Hello all. I'd like to find out if having DHCP assign me a new IP address every day that I log in is a common issue or not. I hadn't had this issue before until I decided to release+renew an address, then it won't stop assigning new IP's. I've read on the docs that this is rather unusual occurance for a net network to occur at such a common pace. If it is, what can I do to fix this issue if there is a fix? Thanks in advance.

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
    Software Version:6.5

For DSL it is very common, for cable it is not common unless you disconnect for a long time.

The fix would be to purchase a static IP (which will cost you more) or to use a dynamic DNS service like dyndns.org and an updater program (one is linked to from that site) and then you just tell others the domain name you chose, rather than the IP. This is assuming you need your PC to be accessible from the internet; if not, just live with a dynamic IP.
