Default Router security, port stealth and Zonealarm

    Hi,

I have just set up a wireless connection on my laptop, all is working as it should.

However, after I checked my firewall security, my once 100% stealthed connection is now showing ports as closed, not stealthed.

I'm running XP SP2 with ZoneAlarm internet security suite.

Also, Zonealarm has not detected one intrusion attempt since I went wireless, is this normal? Is my router blocking probes?

    Thanks.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
    Software Version:6.5

Your router contains a firewall that is blocking all intrusions and when running a stealth test is the one being scanned.

Thanks, so I take it that my laptops ports are still stealthed and only the router is visible to probes? is this a risk?

Being that you have your router that blocks all incoming and ZoneAlarm which blocks incoming and alerts you for outgoing, you are safe.
