    Default Protecting My Network And Running A Gaming Server

    Quick question. I am thinking about running a gaming server on the internet, so I would need to unblock ports 27000 - 27050. Could this endanger the reasonable security of my network and other computers on it? I have my network encrypted and I have Zone Alarm firewalls on all of the computers on my network.

    You could just give the game's server program server rights to the internet zone. This way ZA will block any unnecessary access through those ports that are not intending to connect to your game. People playing the game will still be able to connect to you.
