Default Zone Alarm Gets "knocked out"

On two occasions, after surfing the net, I found that my Zone Alarm icon on desktop and tray were missing. I then went to Program Files and clicked on Zone Alarm. It began a search for "client" file and couldn't find it. I had to reinstall Zone Alarm. Can you tell me why, how and who could have "knocked out" Zone Alarm? While surfing, Zone Alarm notified me that it had blocked someone or something, but I didn't get any information as to who it was. Please help me protect my Zone Alarm. I love it. By the way, I have the "protect client" checked.

If it was removed, then it means your computer was compromised prior to installing ZA. I suggest going to http://forum.malwareremoval.com/viewforum.php?f=11or http://www.castlecops.com/f67-Hijack...ans_Oh_My.html (make sure you read the threads about posting), and let them know you may be compromised, and post a hijackthis log. Make sure your system is clean prior to installing ZA.
