    Default Network setup okay?

Okay, I am network dummie. Qwest just brought DSL to our area so I switch from dial-up (yea!).

ZASS newest version was already installed
    Standard Qwest DSL modem
Linksys Wireless router with one other home PC networked

Everything seems fine---noticed that my ZASS probe attempts counter has no longer been incrementing--which sounds good, but is that a false sense of security?

I have done the firewall tests at hackerwatch.org & shields up!.

The latter test said "Your system REPLIED to our Ping (ICMP Echo) requests", even though these were set to be blocked on my zone security settings.

    Help?

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
    Software Version:7.0

Hi!most probably your router is aswering to pings and port probes and not ZA. This also explains why your are not getting probes log by ZA.There should be a setting in the linksys router to block the PINGS (e.g. 'Block WAN requests'). Please check that blocking ping and trace route does not adversly affect your connection. To check if it is your router or your PC aswering, just take note of the IP that is scanned by shields up! and compare it with your IP (start --> type cmd --> type ipconfig /all ). They should be different.Cheers,Fax
