Thread: My Vault data

    Default My Vault data

    Looking for an explaination.
Win XP Pro, ZA Internet Security Suite
At random and over many web sites, alerts will pop up to inform me the web site has asked for My Vault information.
The data requested appears to be selected at random and I know the web site has no need for the information.
I simply deny the request and go forward with my browsing, so I know ZA is doing its job.
My question, is my computer infected with malware?
Tried additional virus/malware scans and all are negative.
    Anyone else experience this problem?
Is there malware designed to steal information from ZA's security vault?
    I'm open to suggestions.
    Thank you

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:6.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

    Hi!

this usually happens if you add very short text or numbers in the my vault, for example, 2-3-4 characters or numbers.

This will create a lot of false positives because often web pages addresses and code exchanged while surfing contains many number and/or characters.

So, I would recommend you don't add short PINs or similar in your vault.

    Cheers,

    Thank you Fax.
Some vault data is 4 digits, most is more, none is less.
Vault data requested has been eight digits or more.
    I'm relieved but still suspicious.

Hi!the likelyhood to have matching between web code and MyVault of 8 digit is really veryremote. But if you get only alerts for short PINs than they are just false positives.Cheers,Fax
