    Default upnp

    Good Morning,

I have installed a router and was going over the settings. It has Upnp enabled. I have Upnp diabled in services. Do I need to disable it in my router too? I do not do P2P - no IM no networking.(pretty boring Hun!)
Thanks for any advice. (I only have ZA free running now - BD virus & Malwarebytes)

    Hi Dusty!

It is does make sense to disable the UPnP in the router even if the UPnP is not used in windows.
Something about some router exploits using the UPnP and disabling the router's UPnP prevented the exploit(s).

Another pointer is change the router's default password and login to something more private, as these too are some known exploits.

    Best regards.

    Morning Oldsod,

Thanks! I kinda thought that was what I should do. I put a new password in first thing!! I haven't configured the router to much yet - my brother has offered to help, but everything is running smooth . . . . . Yehaw!!

    Have a Great Saturday!!
