Default Appearance of a new network.

Under my network listing I have alyways had my loopback address and my earthlink.net network listed.
I new network has recently appeared-169.254.0.0/255.255.0.0. Is this cause for concern or is it legit. If I do not need it I would like to block it or take it off the list.
Whenever I try to remove it I get a message that sstates it can not be deleted because it is active.Do U need earthlink and this other network also, whatever it is?

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

Hi!that address is usually popping up when you loose connection with your proper network. Its the address of the network card. Just set it to INTERNET and it should be fine.Cheers,Fax

You can add another rule, with the
IP range of the subnet, and mark it as a blocked network. That would block those IP addresses.
