A bunch of weird things have been happenning so I wanted to see if anyone could explain to me what's happenning.
1.) The file zlclient.exe (located in the ZoneAlarm folder), type "Repeat Program", sent something to 126.96.36.199:53
, a DNS indentified in the ZL Program Log as www.msnbc.msn.com.c.footprint.net
.The connection was allowed (auto).
What is this program accessing, why is it accessing anything?
And why is this allow auto?
The zlclient.exe file in my program control should be asking me for permission whether access/server or trusted/internet since I have every category for that program as a question mark, shouldn't it?
2.)On an unrelated (or possibly related, who knows) note. I'm also on a network linked to other computers.
Computers in that network keep trying to connect with me apparently.
The type is "program access" and it's the svchost.exe.
I understand this is a generic file but why are they trying to access me at all?
In this case all attempts are blocked by ZL.
When blocked I'm told
the attempts say they are coming from the internet even though I recognize the addresses as those on my network (always using different ports, in this case 1055,1051,1035 respectively in the 3 times in one day they tried).
I've used AVG 8.5 to search for viruses and nothing has appeared.
Any explanations would be much appreciated.
