    Default Printer Speed SLOW

After installing ZASS for Vista, my printer speed is greatly reduced.
Is there a setting I need to make in ZASS?

    Operating System:Windows Vista Business
    Software Version:7.1 (Vista)
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

    Thanks.
I checked out the link you provided, checked the settings given, and still have slow printing.
I can still print but it is just annoyingly slow.

Hi, just discovered the forum today and was wondering if this problem was ever sorted.
I've just installed ZA on my mum's VISTA computer and we are now getting the same slow prints (and also scans) that you describe here.

Same here. Slow printing. I did post a separate message regarding this. I didn't realize just how many people were having a problem. I have a Lexmark x6100 series. I have updated the drivers for Vista already. I am running ZA Internet Security Suite for Vista 2007. I am using Vista Home premium.I have uninstalled and reinstalled my printer drivers as recommended in the forum, but with no success.
I have also checked my spoolers. It is on the correct setting.I do agree, printing is annoyingly slow!!!

None of these suggestions do any good to the core issue of the printer freezing up when given a scan or print command. I have tried out a multitude of options working with ZA Tier II and Tier III support as well. I dont think it is an issue of a improper setting. The basic software that is built has some core bug. My reasons for concluding the same are based on the following experiments I conducted:

    a. Uninstall and re-install Printer after installing ZA
    b. Uninstall and re-install ZA after installing printer
    c. Shutdown ZA Security Suite on try printing
    d. Shutdown ZA, remove from startup (msconfix.exe) and try printing
    e. Turning off/on Firewall,Anti-vitus,Anti-Spyware etc..multiple on/of scenarios for sub-systems within ZA
    f. Installing the same printer program on a PC with no ZA; (protected with Norton-anti virus)

All tests point to one conclusion: if ZA is installed you are frozen. It could be a registry flag that might get over-ridden by ZA or a bad dll speaking to svchost : either ways, the core software of ZA for Vista is flawed.

I am negotiating with Customer Support for a refund. I recommend AVG as an alternative. I have had no problems with their free version(successful at thwarting anti-viruses for a full year for me) available at http://free.grisoft.com/.
