Default Outlook Express and ZA. Can't download incoming emails, etc.

I just installed ZA after tiring with Norton's problems and so far, so go. BUT, I am having problems receiving my emails. I am on Cox high-speed internet and they tell me, based on the error codes displayed on the download, that mu security suite (ZA) is "locking up on its email scan.
Any ideas on what I need to do to get emails to load?

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:5.x
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

Thanks for the responses but ZA just a couple of hours ago got back to me asking me to disabe the virus scanning on my incomming
email. I did same and OE is working just fine.
Must admit that I am not too happy losing that functionality but since I don't open anything I do not recognize I can live with it for now.
I will write back to ZA after I make sure this works to express my concern and when/if they tell me anything new, I'll repost.

That's a new one about disable your virus scanning. So, what is checking your email for viruses? YES, PLEASE repost after you talk to ZA as ALL of OUR MEMBERS would like to know their answer. Just a suggestion, PLEASE try my solution without disabling the virus scanning and see if itwill solve your issue.SlyFox

    Slyfox,
    Here is the error code:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.west.cox.net', Server: 'pop.west.cox.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
I have been emailing w/out problems since my last post so to check things out I enabled email scanning, logged out of OE, logged back to OE and presto, the above error code hits when OE opens.
As to your other post, I will look that over once ZA has responded to my inquiry as to "this this as good as you can do?"

BTW, I did remove all the Norton products via their "removal tool."
