Default Does ZA protect me against Microsoft intrusions

Reading this from a MS Manager i am concerned by it of course and wonder if i am either protected by ZA
Security Suite automatically or must i make specific settings against an IP range to stop "unannounced" intrusion by MS

Hi!MS updates are released for your security and to fix known bug, some updates are also to limit piracy. If you don't trust Microsoft just use another OS (IMO) there is no other way around....Read here for example: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r19071054-Just keep automatic update turned OFF and shutdown related services. In ZA select "windows automatic updates" and set to KILL (smartdefense trust level) also you can set to kill the microsoft WGA (windows genuine advantage)Cheers,Fax

I don't know if you should really 'kill' WGA, you will need it for some of those critical/high priority security updates - you do want those - don't you? You can reduce privileges with a lot of red X's; but 'killing it' is too harsh, even in the virtual world. Microsoft does check your pc for &quot;genuine&quot; Windows before giving you their critical security updates.<hr>http://forums.zonealarm.org/zonelabs...ssage.id=16957

The bottom line is that i have to know of any access to my machine so I have the control advisedly or not. I dont want Spyware installed by any software vendor that includes MS playing on my machine.
My post was to clarify if ZA &quot;sees&quot; MS intrusions as allowable in some way.
I dont necessarily want to block MS but i do want the option either with my ZA Security Suite to control access MS or anyone else, wants or needs.
MS can ask to check my OS before it allows updates etc but i would want to know why the updates are needed/reccommended. MS maybe &quot;trustworthy&quot; to some but unfortunately it comes down to human infallability not always getting it right.
