Default How to change Home Page

When I try to change my Home Page, it appears to succeed.
However, when I leave and go back, my original Home Page is still there.
How do I enable Zone Alarm to allow me to change my Home Page?

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

Hi!not sure this is a ZASS issue.... did you change any setting under the ZA OS firewall?Go to the Privacy control tab --> Program control --> Custom --> OS firewall tab --> and check that "change internet explorer home page" is set to "use program setttings" or "allow"... or push on "reset on defaults".If ZASS blocks the change of your home page it should list it under the ZA alert&log tab --> Log viewer tab --> Select Alert type "OS firewall".Are you sure you are not infected by spyware or adware?Or are you using any other security tool on top of ZASS? Cheers,Fax

I cannot find the pane you are describing.
On the left I have "Program Control" and "Privacy" tabs.
    Which one do I use?

    You were correct.
I had OS Firewall unchecked and a question mark under "Change Internet Explorer Home Page."
I enabled OS Firewall and put a check mark there.
I notice that, if one has it disabled, the question mark cannot be changed to a check mark.
Now I can change my Home Page. I notice I had the same question mark under "Change Internet Explorer search page."
I also changed that to a check mark.
    Should I have done so?
I believe I'll change both back to an "X" now to prevent outside programs from hijacking my choice.
In the past I had too many notices with OS Firewall enabled.
    Thus, I had it disabled.
Should I now leave it enabled?
Also, I had a message at the CNN site that a popup was blocked. I right clicked at the top of the page and allowed it.
I ended up getting a popup ad there.
How do I now block popup ads at that site?
    Thanks for your help.

Hi!the "default settings" works fine for me and are the best both in terms of security and usability... so everything should look like with 2 lines (use program settings). Then SmartDefence should be set to AUTO (to minimise the popup). If you start to customise all these settings you will end up with more problems than solutions. Or you need to remember exactly what you have customised. ZA OS firewall pop-ups may happen only the first few days of use of ZA then it will be pretty silent.Cheers,Fax
