Default DSL connection ok at first then fails later

I have AT&T Yahoo DSL. I don't have any problems logging on the internet at first; I could even log off then log back on. However if I log off the internet (computer still on), and then try to log on the internet hours later Zonealarm won't let me. If I restart the computer I can log on.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

Do you have your DHCP server in the trusted zone?

<DT>DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) <DD>A protocol used to support dynamic IP addressing. Rather than giving you a static IP address, your ISP may assign a different IP address to you each time you log on. This allows the provider to serve a large number of customers with a relatively small number of IP addresses. </DD>Use these two pages to add it to the trusted zone, http://zonealarm.donhoover.net/dnsdhcp.html, http://zonealarm.donhoover.net/adding.html
